Meet Hudson

This is Hudson.

Born in July 2023 with Down syndrome and a heart defect, and into open heart surgery at just two months old — a start no parent is ever really prepared for.

We’ve just heard back from his mum after his first intensive therapy week… and this is what she told us.

Hudson blew her away. It was tough — there were tears — but he kept pushing through it all. And even then, his smiles and laughter never disappeared. Just quietly determined, the whole way.

She said the support to get him there “helped so much” and that she honestly can’t put into words how grateful she is for the support of everyday Kiwis through Kiwis Together. That week wasn’t just another appointment — it was a real step forward for him.

They’ve only just scratched the surface of what he can do, and she’s already booked the next round for June… because now she’s seen what’s possible.

That’s what this is.

Just Kiwis backing a family, and it turning into something real.
