Meet Aliya
Aliya is only 4, but everyday things are already harder than they should be. Getting dressed, using her hands, even simple play can take real effort and often ends in frustration. From the outside, she looks like any other little girl, but her parents can see she’s working twice as hard just to do the basics.
They’ve been told occupational therapy would make a real difference, helping her build those early skills now before it starts affecting her confidence as she gets older. But like so many families, they’ve hit that gap where she’s not considered “severe enough” for public support, yet she’s also not okay without help.
So this is one of the kids currently sitting in front of us.
Not a past story. Not something already sorted. This is now.
And the part people often don’t realise — this pot isn’t built on big donations. It’s built on everyday people putting in just $1 a week. That’s it. When enough people do it, it turns into real support for kids like Aliya.
At the moment, we’ve got more of these coming through than we can comfortably cover, so every new person stepping in genuinely makes a difference to how quickly we can say yes.
